How I Got My Start
I’ve loved Dragon’s since I picked up the first Spyro game as a child. Since then I’ve read, played, and looked at anything involving the word Dragon. One of these objects was a book by the name of The Fire Within. Without spoiling anything too much it involved a lady that made clay dragons. She would then imbue them with Dragon’s fire to make them come to life. This made me really want to try my hand at making clay dragons -- even if they couldn’t really come to life. Gadink was my first little guy and even though so many moves he -- even with some lost bits -- remains my desk thinker to this day.
My art teacher in high school loved them so much that I made her, and several of my favorite teachers, a dragon of their very own. Then a few of my fellow students wanted some so I started my first commissions and sold them. I also would make them as gifts for various friends and family members. I loved making every one of my little dragons different.
Years later after moving back to New York, my friend since high school gave my information to a wonderful lady that runs a giant nerd event. My friend told me I should sell them as an artist/vendor. Later that year I had my first event and it went fantastically! From then on I’ve been at Comic Cons, Art Fairs, and various other nerdy events.
Now -- since I’ve realized that maybe I can embrace just being an artist -- I’ve started branching out to various other mediums and even participating in Panels/Workshops. I have also started working as a Freelance Photographer, Writer, and Editor.
